How do I suspend or remove team members from my Instance?

You can do this via MyMalcolm. Go to the Team Section and click on the user you wish to suspend or remove. The options to suspend or remove will then appear towards the top right of the screen.

Do you mark content up in Schema?

By default we mark up your FAQ hosted hub content using the FAQPage schema. This is useful for search engine results. If your content is more general in nature you may prefer to change the schema used to WebPage. You can also do this from Settings --> FAQs.

Can I change the path or base URL of my hosted hub pages?

Accepted Answer

As you are probably aware you can configure the Malcolm! hosted hub to use your own custom domain - see here for further details - but sometimes you may wish to change the part of the URL that comes after your domain.

By default your FAQs live at /faqs and your Workflows at /workflows

You can now choose from some alternative "base URLs" in the Settings area of MyMalcolm. Visit the FAQs or Workflows sub section respectively to choose an alternate URL for each content type. This feature may be particularly useful if you are using Malcolm! for more general content (eg how to's) rather than questions & answers.

How do I make my Workflow into a pop up overlay?

In the Library screen of the Workflow section of MyMalcolm click the three dots on the right hand side of the screen and select "Embed"

This will take you into the Share section of MyMalcolm! Here you can choose the type of embed you want to create.

Choose "Overlay" and work through the screens - the Workflow you came from will be preselected as the content you want to surface in your Overlay. You will be offered various styling and display options and at the end of the process you will be supplied with the code that you should add to your webpage HTML and the inline code used to launch the overlay.

How do I delete data submitted to a Workflow?

You can delete some or all of the submitted data (including uploaded files) associated with a Workflow by selecting "Delete Data" in the Analyse tab of the relevant Workflow.

You can choose to delete all data or selected data between two dates. Note that as well as removing data the delete process will also remove any exports you previously generated that contain the data plus any files uploaded via the Workflow and MyMalcolm activity logs. Please therefore export and download to your local system any data you wish to keep before starting the delete process in MyMalcolm.

Ratings, analytics and feedback associated with deleted Workflow completions will be kept and can still be reviewed via MyMalcolm post delete.

How do I change the colour of my links?

You can change the colour of your links via your theme. Themes live in the Brand section of MyMalcolm.

In your main theme settings you'll see link colour options under Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Body.

In embed themes, the link colour is managed from the other colours section.

In Workflow themes, the link colour defaults to the colour selected in the main theme but can be overridden.

Question 7

Can I clear sort options in the Library area of MyMalcolm?

Within the Library of FAQs and Workflows in MyMalcolm you can click certain column headings to sort by that column. The first two clicks will vary the sort direction (ascending or descending) and the last click will clear your sort!

Is there a way a user can browse all my FAQs/Articles bypassing Categories?

Accepted Answer

On your hosted hub your users can search for FAQs/Article content by keyword, browse various filtered views (eg most recent, most helpful etc) and also browse the FAQs/Articles within each category.

It can sometimes be useful to offer your users a browsable view of all your FAQ/Articles (regardless of the category/categories they are in) and this is possible via the directory view.

You can enable this Settings --> FAQs --> General where you you can also decide how you want the content on the directory page to be sorted.

When switched on the directory page can be accessed on your hosted hub URL at /faqs/directory and you can create a link to it from a feature box or promo or from text areas like your homepage preamble (all managed from within your theme).

The directory will also show all the categories towards the top of the page (clicking any of these will take you into the category view) and then FAQs/Articles beneath sorted in the order determined in MyMalcolm.

Can I have a different logo on FAQ / Workflow pages?

Sometimes you might want to use a different logo on your hosted hub homepage to the rest of your hosted hub. If you are using a header image on the hosted hub homepage for example you might want to use a reversed or alternate logo that works well on top of that image.

You can specify a secondary logo inside the header section of your theme.

Can I change the colours used in my rating elements?

You can change the colours used for the positive, negative, neutral and unrated rating elements within your theme via the Brand section of MyMalcolm.
